Boomer Breakfast Conversations...

I've been in this nice free WiFi enabled Breakfast spot since 6AM this morning, and the majority of the patrons have been Boomers. Who am I? I am actually a "Tweener" - born smack between Boomer and X Generations.

I've been listening, yes, eavesdropping on conversations between Boomers for a few years now. I know that for my continued survival in the business world, I need to know how they think. More importantly, it also helps me better understand my parents in general.

Personally, I've found it difficult befriending Boomers in public. Playing tennis with Boomers at the courts down the street sometimes helps get conversations going - but I'm ok with listening and learning when I must...

Today, a group of older Boomers (3 women, 2 men) have been talking about the following topics:

1) Money - Retirement funds
2) Money - Senior Discounts for 55 and over
3) Home - Repair projects and costs involved
4) Customer Service - Frustrations in general with various customer service reps
5) Health Issues - Friends with brain tumors, healthcare costs, Etc.
